QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR

Looking at Loss Prevention position.  The position requires working with machinery, like Coordinate-measuring machines seen here as well as 3D scanners.    

Tools that I will need to learn are:
1)  Micrometers.  These measures wear on movable, operating parts.  
2)  Calipers.
3)  Gauges.

Briefly, here is the job:

Quality control inspectors monitor quality standards for nearly all manufactured products, including foods, textiles, clothing, glassware, motor vehicles, electronic components, computers, and structural steel. Specific job duties vary across the wide range of industries in which these inspectors work.

Quality control workers rely on many tools to do their jobs. Although some still use hand-held measurement devices, such as calipers and alignment gauges, workers more commonly operate electronic inspection equipment, such as coordinate-measuring machines (CMMs) and three-dimensional (3D) scanners. Inspectors testing electrical devices may use voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters to test the potential difference, current flow, and resistance, respectively.

Quality control workers record the results of their inspections through test reports. When they find defects, inspectors notify supervisors and help to analyze and correct production problems.

In some firms, the inspection process is completely automated, with advanced vision inspection systems installed at one or several points in the production process. Inspectors in these firms monitor the equipment, review output, and conduct random product checks. 

However, through to 2026, the job outlook for quality control inspectors is expected to decline by 11% due to automation.  Huh, all that one needs to do is scan a file, write a Twitter-sized report, and submit it.

WHERE IS MY W-2?

I called the IRS on March 16, 2018 (a Friday) to request a duplicate of my W-2. They confirmed my information and promised to ship out the duplicate, saying that it should arrive in 3 to 5 business days.  Today is March 29, 2018 (Thursday).  What's that? 13 days or 2 weeks?  

So my question is where is it?

Not sure if you know about the different licenses or if you do, not sure which ones you were thinking of pursuing.  That list there is pretty good.  From that list, however, I cannot tell what PSI Services charges for each exam.  

This site might provide an accurate pricing for the examination fees on the different licenses.  I guess the real cost are the prep classes for the exams. 

Looks like Kaplan University offers prep classes.  

ProSchools presents pricing for their classes, some of which can be done online.  

There is also AB Training Center.  

There are others.  I wonder which are the well-reputed or well-established schools in Los Angeles. 

Finally, I do not know which Insurance niche might be the most lucrative.

It didn't arrive Wednesday either or Thursday,  so I went into the branch office and ask that they create a new one.  They did, er, ah, she did, the lovely clerk.  Today's Friday so I will check the mail to see if it has arrived.  But it's moot at this point.  

Good Bye Night Latch, Hello Deadbolt

Finally found the name for this old part to my door.  It's called a night latch, not a deadbolt.  That color is called champaign.  So there's that.

Glad I got a deadbolt instead.  

Just in case.  Product does not mask odors--it eliminates them permanently.
