I have endured an absolute nightmare dealing with Dell Computers and their shipper of choice, FedEx. I bought a Dell Inspiron 17R laptop and have had the worst buying experience ever. I buy as many things online as I can. I like saving time. I like the online deals. I have had very good experiences from Amazon and eBay. This was the first time shopping from Dell. It will be my last. I don't care what kind of $50 I save from Dell, even if I save $100 or $150. I prefer service, fast and effective service. I am the kind of guy who wants it now and in good working order. Maybe it's a function of having gotten things so quickly from Amazon that I expect other companies to be just as fast. Dell sobered me up on that notion immediately.

Found out that FedEx ships to residents from Tuesday through Saturday. They do not ship on Mondays!!! Could not believe this. The rational for this was that people are apt to be home from work on Saturdays. I countered by saying that it was Saturdays when families go to ball games, to the beach, to a park, to see family, and have barbeques. But any reasoning coming from a mundane, an individual in the land of the free where the individual was once king, ain't going to cut it with global companies.
